Phishing is the act of sending emails to a user falsely claiming to be a legitimate enterprise in an attempt to scam the user into surrendering private information that will be used for identity theft / fraud. The email directs the user to a web site where they are asked to update personal information such as passwords, credit card details or bank account numbers that the legitimate organisation already has. The web site is made to look like the real one. It is, however, bogus and is setup only to steal the userís information. If you receive an email that asks for your personal security details, please ignore the request and forward the email to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are worried that someone may already have your personal security details, then please contact our International Payments team immediately on 0800 015 4116.
Lines are open 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays. For information on call charges please see Important Legal Information.
